In accordance with EU and REACH regulations, copper foil manufacturers are discontinuing the use of arsenic adjuvants in copper foil manufacturing. REACH is designed to limit exposure to arsenic metals, such as arsenic trichloride (Ascl3). This move makes it difficult to use arsenic compounds in copper foil manufacturing and will eventually ban the purchase of arsenic outright in the EU. Rogers’ R04003C PcB material is affected by this, and the standard electrode copper foil used for R04003cPcB material will be replaced by a new grade of copper foil that complies with EU regulations in 2020.
